RBL Overriding in Zimbra[edit]

Issue

Customer Reported he is not able to get the mail from the specific standerd domain.

Understanding

We are using RBLs (such as zen.spamhaus.org) to block spam, the whitelist method in the Wiki does not work. This is because the wiki method is for spamassasin not postfix, Postfix will check incoming messages against the RBL first, and allow/reject accordingly. So if we have a sender listed on a RBL, we need to whitelist them in Postfix.

Solution

Login As Zimbra User.

vim /opt/zimbra/conf/postfix_rbl_override #postfix_rbl_override can be of any name whatever we want to define and entries in the file should be like:

1.2.3.4 OK # for the Ip Addresses
live.com OK # for the domain

save & exit;

Hit the below command to generate the db file of the above file

postmap /opt/zimbra/conf/postfix_rbl_override

To get it known the significance of the above file by postfix do as below:

vim /opt/zimbra/conf/postfix_recipient_restrictions.cf

reject_unauth_destination # Add below this line to check the file
check_client_access hash:/opt/zimbra/conf/postfix_rbl_override
reject_unlisted_recipient

save & exit;

To get the whole configuration refleted hit the below command:

zmmtaclt resart
